Uncle?

Do any of you feel that uncle has a larger part in the story? What could that part be?

I think that the Uncle will have a larger part in the book. This is because he was so supporting of him when he said that his dream wasn’t to do all the nature stuff. I think that El Gatos parents wont support him in soccer but the uncle will. I think that if he ever gets out of the forest the uncle will come with him and will drive him to all of the soccer games. He will just basically help him succeed in his soccer dream.

I think that the Uncle will be the one that ultimetly convinces the mom to let El Gato be a goalie.

I think Uncle is a greater part to the story because he was so supporting of Gato when he was deceiving his mother. And he actually told him he knew instead of following him or having someone follow him and figure out what he was doing. He gave him advice on what to do as well. I think that the Uncle might have met the keeper and even trained with him even and then some time while practicing him hurt his leg and it got all deformed the way it is now. I think that would be a major twist in the story and it would make it a lot more interesting.

Yes, I think that the Uncle is going to be a bigger part of the story later on. I think that he might have gone to the Keeper when he was younger or he has something to do with the Keeper. He also might be the one that El Gato tells about the Keeper to.

Austin-
I feel that the uncle could hold a larger role in this story. He seems to realize that El Gato has a talent in something from the very beginning and when the DSJ opportunity arrives, the uncle seems to know about El Gato’s gift. Maybe the keeper could be him in younger form or the uncle could of also had to hide a talent from his family. Whatever his status in the book may be the uncle has a great understanding for El Gato and what he’s going through.
