The Deal

When the people from DJS came to sign El Gato do you think the family should've hsndled the signing differently? Instead of the parents deciding do you think El Gato should've decided or had a say in it? Should they have tried to get a better deal. Or do you think they handled it well?

When DJS comes to sign Gato I think the family handled it very badly. I think Gato should have had some say or opinion in the deal. I can understand the father’s point of view because he wants his son with him and not three-hundred miles away but I don’t understand the mother’s point of view. Even though she wants him to be a biologist he gets three-hundred dollars a week plus a ten-thousand dollar bonus! He also will get game bonuses if he plays on the first or B team. So they will get tons of money and by the time the contract is over he will be of age to go to college, and have the money to do it. This is what I think about how Gato’s family handled the deal.

I think that the parents could have handled the situation a lot better. This is because they were like freaking out about there being this famous soccer player at their door trying to take their son away. They didn’t really take it in that he would gain lots of money for the family, and he could become one of the best goal keepers in the world. They should have tried to remain calm. I also think that El Gato should have said if he wanted to go or not. This is because he knows what is best for him, and he knows what he wants to do with his life. I think that the family should have tried for a better deal though. This is because if the DSJ members drove all the way to the middle of the jungle, they probably wouldn’t drive back to DSJ with nothing. The parents should have raised the price for the son, and then seen what the guy said.

I think that El Gatos parents should have let him have a say in the decision. After all it is going to be the future of his life and so he does need to start making his own decisions. I do understand that it is hard for a father or mother to let go of their only child however; the family does need the money and so they may need to make a sacrifice. That is how I feel about how El Gato should have a decision in the future of his life

Contrary to the previous statements from my classmates I believe that the parents handled whether the situation of if he would or wouldn’t be signed for the contract very nicely. The belief that I am stating is being supported by the fact of if the family thought he was ready and that ius all they could do to determine this.
